How to get started

Let’s start by arranging your FREE Discovery Session as an initial online call or face to face meeting, to chat, explore your needs and see if we would both like to work together to achieve your lifestyle aspirations. This is time to delve into your vision and ideas and understand your unique requirements, so that we can tailor a package to meet your needs.

Discovery Session

During this session we will answer any questions you may have about health coaching, chat about how it might work for you and learn more about your aspirations.  We will review how best to help you improve from where you are today. If we align to take things forward, we can design your coaching package.  We can, if you choose, incorporate nutrition resources or hypnotherapy, depending on what suits your situation best. We can tailor the approach, timescale and length/regularity of sessions to suit.   We have a network of health related colleagues who can provide additional specialisms to enable us to find a whole solution to fit you.

In advance of this call we may share a short questionnaire to gain some initial insight and background so we can best use the time we have together.

However, Kath is located in the Winchester area of Hampshire, UK. She is available to meet in person for 1-2-1 sessions (any COVID restrictions allowing) in the comfort of her own home coaching space.

A person dedicated to bringing the best out of you by encouraging, inspiring and believing in you by applying motivational strategies, behaviour change therapy and communication techniques to help their clients create sustainable changes that lead to better health and lifestyle.

As Health Coaches we can help you make changes to your lifestyle, stress levels, nutrition and overall health. We can also support you in preventing and potentially reversing chronic lifestyle related diseases by creating the right 'Lifestyle Prescription' for you as a better alternative to 'a pill'.

We can support you and offer the framework that will enable you to implement new lifestyle choices and overcome any resistance to change you might be experiencing.

Together we can tailor a plan that will help you regain control of your own health and wellbeing.

Functinal Medicine
What is a Functional Medicine Approach?

INSTITUTE OF FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE  (IFM) provides a wellness-based approach, looking at how to restore health by addressing and resolving the root cause of illness, not just the symptoms. One of the core principles is that food is medicine. Surrounding this principle all elements of lifestyle and environmental factors are considered to create balance throughout the body and mind.

Functional medicine looks at a person holistically and uses the analogy of a tree as a perfect concept to relate how the body’s balance and metabolic functions are interconnected. Functional Medicine’s personalised approach to health looks at the root cause of disease and promotes optimal health, and better lives, not just managing symptoms.

By addressing root cause, rather than symptoms, this approach looks at how illness affects you specifically and how lifestyle and genetics can affect health, as well as physiological and biochemical changes.

Think about it this way; if your boat is letting in water. What do you do: bailing water overboard or try to plug the leak?

Conventional healthcare keeps bailing out water, by masking the symptoms with drugs. Functional medicine goes deeper to find the cause and fixes the leak.

As Functional Medicine Certified Health Coaches we are trained in the tools and systems that Institute for Functional Medicine clinical practitioners use, in conjunction with the information and guidance given by your doctor. This enables us to work on your modifiable lifestyle factors to improve your health. 

As coaches we cannot diagnose any illnesses or prescribe medication, supplements or food plans. We can work together and use our knowledge with your doctors guidance to understand the best way forward for you.  

We work on helping my clients develop their personal vision and successfully achieve their goals whether it may be to improve their energy and focus, re-balance their eating and/or increase vitality or passion so that they can become their best self.

What is NLP?


NLP offers a range of models, techniques and strategies to help us understand how the language we use influences the way we think and the results we get.

These models, techniques and strategies have evolved from modelling excellence, in order to help us better understand how our thought processes and behaviour, including how the language we use, influences the way we think and the results we get.

NLP recognises that the mind and body are a single system, our experiences and emotional state affect our behaviours, we attach language labels to these experiences and emotions and these become a powerful indicator of our thinking.  Understanding these patterns, or this map of our thinking, help us to become liberated from disempowering behaviours and empowered by patterns of genius.

As an NLP therapist Kath can work with people to understand their thinking and behavioural patterns, emotional state, and aspirations. By examining a person’s ‘map’, she can help them find and strengthen the skills that serve them best and assist them in developing new strategies to replace unproductive ones.


NLP can produce fast, lasting results and improves understanding of cognitive and behavioral patterns and the impact of how we use language in our lives day to day. NLP also seeks to build effective communication between conscious and unconscious mental processes to help people increase creativity and problem-solving skills, through a variety of techniques and hypnotherapy options.

What is Optimal Nutrition?


Giving your body the best possibly range of nutrients to allow it to function at its best and be as healthy as possible.

Drawing upon extensive resources from the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), alongside insights from the latest in scientific research in nutrition I can share my learnings and resources from experience and study. Research shows us that if you are optimally nourished you can:


  • Reduce your risk of and reverse affects of significant diseases (e.g. cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis)

  • Improve your clarity, concentration and focus

  • Enhance your physical performance

  • Increase your resistance to infection

  • Slow down the ageing process

  • Enhance your IQ and much more

Changing what you eat and you are not only able to change your health, but also your day to day vitality.  You could be adding many active years onto your life.  If you could achieve all this by eating food that tastes great would you not do it?


Working with you, our approach is to look at areas where you want to improve, support you with clearly researched and scientific resources, give you suggestions for things you may wish to add to your daily habits of eating, IFM comprehensive food plans to share for those that need the structure, but always based on an ethos of clean, organic, whole foods with a focus on unprocessed and a rainbow range of plant based foods.


For your nutritional options these can be 1-2-1 or join a weekly supportive group session with others changing their lives towards optimal eating approaches.



Please do note, we are not a qualified Nutritionists in our role of Health Coaches, we do not diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any disease or condition. Nothing shared with clients is intended to substitute for the advice, treatment or diagnosis of a qualified licensed physician or nutritionist in Coaching sessions. We will not make any medical diagnoses or claims, nor substitute for your personal physician’s care. It is our role as your Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach to partner with you as our client to provide ongoing support and accountability in an opt-in model of self-care. It is your responsibility to proceed with this opt-in model under the supervision of your licensed provider/physician or nutritionist.
